Launching of Mediatheque on 21st June 2018

The Médiathèque Nationale (Media Library) is unique in itself and holds a collection of more than five thousand sound and video recordings of local artists. The National Library Act 32 of 1996 and the National Library Regulations 1997 stipulate that all non-print materials (which includes microfilms, sound and visual recordings, multimedia kits and published scripts of plays) should be deposited at the National Library in six copies by the publisher of the work within 30 days of the day on which such material was publicly performed or offered for sale.

At the National Library’s Médiathèque Nationale (Media Library), you can have access to a wide variety of locally produced sound and video recordings free of charge. All you need to bring along with you is your National Identity Card which you will need to present at the Reception Counter of the Search Room 1st Floor. You will then be asked to fill in a request form and the staffs will kindly help you in making a choice.
