Newspaper collection
The collection of newspapers dating back to 1777, consists of bound volumes, parcels and microfilms. The retrospective collection of newspapers consists of some 220 titles and is extensively being used for research purposes. Some of the rare and valuable collection of newspapers available at the National Library are :

Some 20 current newspaper titles are deposited at the National Library by local printers through the legal deposit system. The recent issues of these newspapers are displayed in the Search Room for users to read.
